DAB & the APP are fine, around a few cities, but soon dies once in the country - 648 can be heard well "Mobile" in a car, over East Anglia & beyond - with a decent Car Radio, OK as far as Coventry - it does depend on the type of car of course in my Experience.
The Mobile APP is patchy, as is all mobile phone reception - Good if near a city or a motorway or similar.
Yes, AM can never achieve the bandwidth of Digital, but it has it's place for a few years yet. In the home, Internet (or smart speakers) of course will be the best, wherever you are - AM is affected by most domestic PSUs
