What I like about high band VHF is the size of the antennas 19" is a 1/4 wavelength of the 151 mHz Narrowband broadcast band which is good for inside the roof installation.
Of course with Arctic 252 there's the challenge of the antenna as the wavelength is so enormous.. but there's ways around it which may require very low efficiency but still workable in the realm of their setup.
There's always the CFA or a very robust loop.. Kite/Balloon supported lifted long-wires... or a random wire strung up between trees in the Finish countryside..
DIY radio is a good thing.
As far as Mediumwave broadcasting.. what The Netherlands have introduced and what Australia has is quite good..
In Australia:
1611 - 1701 kHz AM 6 kHz bandwidth 11 channels, 9 kHz channel spacing. Transmitter power 400 watts pZ.
Not for commercial broadcasting but for Narrowband .. niche style programming..
