The best approach for doing long wave now is to either casually pirate and / or go on an LF Ham Band. To be realistic today, no long or medium wave stations will attract non anorak listeners. There will never be an audience which means no advertisers. Casual Pirating free or LF Ham band operation won't commit the operator to be forced to operate long hours, which will prove wildly costly, PLUS the license costs. This idea would have been successful up to about 4 years ago, hiring an active on air Long or MW transmitter, but now it's too late to interest the ordinary listener. Matt should now forget the horrendeously costly idea of being a legal licenced long or MW station. That era is gone. Go Pirate or Ham.
