Bob Lawrence may be an offshore legend but he is a lousy interviewer. Talking over guests halfway through and terminating an interesting anecdote is very annoying to the listener. I gave up listening as he was irritating me with his constant interruptions.
There has always been something fake to me about his presentation as he was the same on United DJs with a personality that didn't ring true. Maybe he is a great DJ but should not interview others as he is not cut out for it.
He reminds me of Andre Walker on Talk Radio. Another person who loves the sound of his own voice and will interrupt guests as they are halfway through recounting an interesting story and proceed to drone on about something loosely connected and utterly boring.
Generally the weekend broadcast was pretty good although I didn't find all the presenters music choices to my taste. Some were great but plenty of duff 70s album tracks thrown in from a few presenters that I had never heard before and now I know why.
