I have no real interest in fashion design ...had to study it in college, but once that was over ... LOL. However, I remember being a bit surprised that the 'flapper' look that I, like you, associate with the 20's was in fashion only about a year (around 1924 if memory serves) and then the clothing began to drift toward the form fitting drapes that we would see in the 30's. All this is just from memory and not from 'study'. Brian is correct that Jackie has made a great study of the styles of that period.
