Christmas 1971 an ex-army Wireless Set No.19, it didn't come with the rotary PSU so I bought a transformer from Samsons(?) Edgware Road, and a bridge rectifier from Henrys.
I had the pin-outs from Southern Surplus in Kingston, it needed 6.3V for the heaters and 400 or so for the rest. I had already bought a surplus 90ft long wire for receiving so I hooked it up to that.
Initially I chatted to some hams on 160m, they sussed me immediately but played along for a while. After that I started Skyport Radio on 7405kHz and got my first report from Finchley.
