I remember testing the No.19 B set on 230MHz I think. I looked up the London Buses info, actually there were 16 sites, and some smaller infill sites at Uxbridge and Highgate. But the LBL area was very large, Uxbridge in the West, Upminster in the East, Potters Bar North and Bexley/Bromley in the South.
These were the sites:
Guys Hospital
Trellick Tower
Crystal Palace
Alexandra Palace
Royal Free Hospital (Hampstead)
Regal House (Twickenham)
Telstar House (Paddington)
Millbank Tower
Shooters Hill
Rumbelows Brockley
Argos House Edgware
James Collins Tower Leyton
Traversh Court Bromley
RAC Building Croydon
Villers House Ealing
Brixton (Bus Garage)
Base Tx was 201-206MHz base Rx 193-198MHz, as for the mobile antenna, yes I spent many hours riveting those to the bus roofs, circular printed onto fibreglass boards with a low dome cover.
