Trouble is, SSDAB Got so many things, all Stacked up against it, Blame the BBC they started it...
More Spectrally efficient? No way, Over 4megs of bandwidth, How many Normal FM could fit in that?

Needs lots more Power than FM for same coverage, Needs several TX sites..More efficient, No way
Uses frequencies around Twice FM band, near the old 405 line TV channels 8,9 etc and above 200 megs
But Band 3 TV had good coverage?, Yes but was High power, And you had a TV Roof Aerial as well

Original Coding system MP2, prone to "bubbling mud" effect, But Newer coding system, means loads of
older DAB sets wont pick it up, People with suitable DAB set, don't know you need to scan
for New Multiplexes when they start...Struggles to get into buildings, compared to FM
Lots of DAB sets, Don't have aerial socket, that could plug into Flats Communal aerial wall socket

Nice idea SSDAB but... at low power...It's The Betamax of Radio
And Nobody makes DAB TX In UK, all Imported....SSDAB only seems OK in Urban Areas
