In passing, Larry Chapp's "interviews" seem to be as much lecture as interview, and none too worthwhile at that, paricularly when he suggests Catholicism could learn from lots of other religions how to dumb its doctrines down. Thanks, Larry, but we've already got enough "Catholics" ready to do that for us.

It's like talking out both sides of one's mouth at the same time to me. Sure, universal salvation is a comforting thought, and we already have enough "Catholics" pushing the point. For instance, I know of one PP who is reported to have said that he finds it hard to believe in a God who creates people in order to send them to hell. Extreme, I know, and there are less dishonest ways of presenting dissention from the Church's doctrine, but, comforting as it may be, it's dangerous territotry.
