Fair enough, John. I had thought it safe to assume 'we have enough "Catholics" pushing the (universalist) point' to mean: we don't need another one, such as this bloke we're talking about, who does hold that view, whom you described using a pejorative idiom.
But I stand corrected.
Better to be a Catholic with a guarded prognosis, I suppose, than a straight out "Catholic", and I shall content myself with small mercies.
