I have to say that the 60's format of pop was to a young me magic! Both Caroline and BIG L shone brightly in this until 67/8 Beyond that I would listen to only Veronica and or MiAmigo. Approximately the back end of the 70's didn't fair so well ie the standard of pop music in the UK or USA to my own taste but I found refuge in both Germany and France as they took the pop of old and gave it a vibrant sound that became known as Euro pop / rock all in English having a bright and powerful energy to it, and still dose to this day within reason. But please understand this is only my own take on music and not necessarily that of many others. Laser 558 / 756 captured this music and just for a short while some good tracks were in the charts in the UK which was very rare for modern UK pop Laser was lucky that for the same short time it was around it did very well musically but for me it ended there so this is where I now totally agree with Mike's comments re a pop format of today and or yet another oldies format no need for ether its very widely available and can be very boring.

648 has become my choice of AM listening when driving. Musically I have come to find it very agreeable and offering the best of both worlds within its agreed format.
I also get a kick out of its still being there I was 10 when it began today I'm 72 in yet
its still there a pure testament to the likes of Peter Moore and all involved, and long may it continue into the distant future and its history never forgotten in the minds of those to come.

Having started pirating from the age of 7 when I obtained my first AM transmitter, and still being active today I must say in the words of Peter Moore ie

Those who can, do.
Those who can't, teach.
The rest become consultants.

How so very true.
