I was working in a TV repair shop at the time, and someone had brought in, a Valve Blaupunkt Tuner Amp chassis
that was out of, one of their huge Radiogram bits of furniture....I sorted it, and was tuning around shortwave on it
and First heard RNI, so then found them on MW AM as well
As this Era was before the days of the Internet, you sent people letters, I sent some to Chicago, as he was doing
same thing as me, remixing tracks with Phasing added, Later on, he got took to court twice, and lots of Anoracks
went down there to support him, On the second Court case, I met him, and "Samantha" in the Pub afterwards
He remembered me from before, even my Amateur Radio callsign, and as I had had worked on big Valve KT88 audio amplifiers
He said, do you want to work on the ship, looking after the transmitters, while I am on shoreleave
To cut a long story short, I went out on one of Albert Hoods trips first , to see what sort of state the Mi-Amigo was in
Rust Bucket would have been a good summary, especially the holes in the hull, patched up with wood hammered into them
But this was a lifetime oppertunity, I was just about to ring Chicago, to see about going out there, when....
the Mi-Amigo sank, I could have been one of the ones rescued....
