Hi there, Spot on "Clevedon"....I Was just going to suggest, what you put!.. Any Use of High Band (Especially in Urban areas)
Will cause Interference, to loads of small Taxi Firms, Farmers Ect, and No Normal listeners, will have the kit to hear you

With Medium wave, Can use the "Extended band" (Above 1602Khz) as used in the Netherlands for pirate use
As someone said above, you Can do Reasonable antennas for TX, not very efficient, but will get out well
Thing is, Medium wave can't really, be used for anything else,(such as for mobile phone use, like the UHF TV band can be)

But for the FM Band, only Frequencies Below 88megs could be used, but Ofcom would say, 10.7meg I.F. Image problems would occur
High Band is best for Comms, but 68 to 88 megs is rubbish for Comms.(I should know, Worked with crappy Low Band, as it's called)

Ofcom ought to Look into, Possibly Extending the FM Band below 87 megs, as most Taxi use, ended there long ago,
An "Extended FM Band" could be done easily by set manufactures, but dream on, this is the UK, where Long ago we had .....
...The Police on 98 megs, Gas Vans on 105-106 megs(All using AM Mod) Why do we do things, Totally the Wrong way in the UK??
Is it Ignorance, or just pig-headed stupidity, or done on purpose,(Like the CB FM weird freqs.) just to be a nuisance??
