MW & LW, has become nonviable for quite a few reasons-Caroline have made it work, with listener investment in lots of Solar panels & lot of luck to use a ready made site. Also a lot less people can actually listen of MW & LW - It's only really worthwhile mobile in a car or truck, as in the home - a computer or smart speaker give much better quality anywhere in the world!
Many newer cars only have DAB or FM radios.

I don't like the situation any more than most of you, but I think it's better to be realistic, than live in a world of "What might have been".
Unless you can create your own power, it's cost has gone up into orbit.
Even for Caroline, if they are granted by OFCOM permission to use higher power, it's cost after dark (with no solar power to help) will be huge - perhaps leading to a reduction in output power at night.
