Re: Gone But Not Forgotten

Some say that broadcasting at sea has that certain edge. Does it need to do so illegally now? I’ve never heard Alex Dyke before but what I just heard sounded like he enjoyed it. Ditto Kevin Turner sounds indistinguishable from the 80s to my ears. If it was illegal, it might stir specific emotions. But it’s a radio station at the end of the day - isn’t it the output that most judge it by? How does today’s output compare to, say, Nov. 1990. I think the answer is for the listener. In just the same way that some assume/believe all new music is rubbish, some will always say the station can never sound as it did, say in 67, 77 or 87. Whether they’ve tried it, assume it, or say it for effect, who knows. They may or may have missed/be missing out. Have a good weekend whatever you do.
