Hi Fred. Much is witheld from the public. Now that communications have moved on to VHF and higher frequencies and also online, there is now no sensible argument that free radio cannot return to the low frequencies now abandoned obsolete AM bands.The argument free Radio causes interference is now not valid. Interference with and to who??? Orfordness after the US moved out was used as a general dump site for UK and USA Forces toxic waste of all sorts, and that's why it now cannot be used for housing, only left as a nature reserve for sea birds.
