Agreed, and it's not necessarily radio stations or curated playlists that are being streamed, more likely automated "stations" from apps like Spotify, SoundCloud et al

If you search and play a tune you like in these apps they will suggest and sometimes play a selection automatically, or you can select "station" and it creates a playlist for you.

There are consequences if traditional radio disappears though; note the rush to buy portable radios during the recent Spanish power outage, the networks were overloaded or offline and could not cope with the internet traffic. The same problem arises during times of crisis or war where it is becoming more common for countries affected to simply switch off the internet.
