I do agree .
Excessive regulation is the killer for most innovative developments, not just radio.
The mode (DAB+) however is fine and works well in other countries, as they allow reasonable levels of transmission power.
Its not the low bit rates either - these have little or no effect on listening.
The problems is OFCOM setting the bar too high, precluding g the new innovative and hungry stations getting a start, and enabling them to make mon ey and then throw.
Radio needs much more than a nice clear signal, it needs content, it needs organisation to bring in revenues, and it needs promotion. Cut out any of these, whether by rules or by money, and you will never achieve the success a project deserves.
