I don't remember but earlier in its life (and pre 10kW) it was on 1071kHz (half-way between the then two BBC Radio 1 national frequencies 1053 and 1089)

with an announced wavelength of 290 metres! Surely it was blindingly obvious that 290m was wrong? as it was between the two BBC R1 frequencies which had been widely promoted as 275 and 285m ! (So how could 290 be between 275 and 285!?)

I wonder was there any grief from anyone trying to hear BBC R1 close to their transmitter with the just 18kHz separation from either frequency? Would not have been any concern to the BBC itself as it was reception outside the UK.
