As I said before, I do not have an anti smart meter mentality. I worked in process automation in the last ten years of my career prior to my retirement. I was engaged more in legal work rather than working directly on engineering work.
I do not think for a moment that the interference from the old SMETS1 smart meter was linked to the activity at cellular radio frequencies, but I wonder whether the meter incorporated switched-mode power supplies or something similar. Any radio placed near the meter box would howl.
Radio Caroline is weak here close to Meriden (the centre of Englan) but I can now listen on 648 with a portable radio placed inside the meter box.
The solar microinverters and related powerline data appear not to be causing interference.
Before I can move forward, I need to do a walk around the vicinity of the house to determine whether the residual level of interference is transmitted over a wide area.
