I do not know if I am blessed or cursed by an ability to remember events from long ago while not knowing where I left my power drill half an hour ago. But I do remember this.
The approach came I think from Paul Graham who had been asked to record the programme(s).
Shaun was an unkown quantity to me. I sought information from Steve Masters who told me a shocking story that I cannot describe here as I cannot verify it. But Steve laughed and said words to the effect of ' you won't get paid, when pressed he will come back with some bank information even down to a date and cheque number, but you will never see the cheque '.
A programme or maybe some programmes were aired and invoiced. When I chased this I was indeed given some bank details, cheque number etc. But no cheque ever arrived.
I took my problems to Paul Graham who said that he just recorded the shows and nothing more.
I further remember an instance, maybe not even connected with this, where Paul asked me to a business meeting in Harwich on or to do with the ship LV18. He wanted me to collect him from Frinton which I did. But as we drove, my car displayed a fault of cutting out at low speed. I had to adopt a process of keeping my foot a bit on the throttle while controlling the speed on the foot brake. This was very stressful so after the meeting which as I recall came to no successful conclusion, I said that I ought to go home and could not take Paul back to Frinton. He had no money on him, like none at all, so I had to pay for his train fare and never saw that money back either.
I decided to leave Shaun and Paul alone thereafter. They rather fitted the Paul R description in the IMIB thread of strange people and fantasists.
