Thanks everyone for your comments and inparticular Paul Rusling.I cannot help to think that If the Communicator had arrived off Margate with two substantial masts installed and advertising contracts in place thinks could have been so much different,but in reality the business model would not work after August 1967.That was evident for all of the seventies and even Caroline tried again when it relaunched in 1983 but soon went back its seventies approach. It certainly brings home how hard it was to carry out this form of broadcasting contending with the authorities and extreme weather.Can I as a listener thank everyone who reads this board and played their part in making this radio happen.
