I recall hearing the tests and concur that the signal was not as good as when it appeared on 558. Johnnie and Blake’s test was excellent and fun and was very exciting to hear for me as I was briefly back in the UK when the tests were done. I believe in the February???
Years later I met Johnny and Jessie Brandon at the Dutch radio day. I never got much comment from Johnny other than I advised I appreciated the content of the test, but Jessie went “Yesssss, they were not supposed to speak and went against her advice/orders???
The chat was only very brief as you can imagine at a venue like that they were popular with anoraks and were also catching up with their colleagues and so never had any long drawn out conversations.
