Hi david au.... Interesting to see that you use the "Extended" band above 1602Khz , the same as they do in the USA.. up to 1700khz
Over here in Europe, its only used by pirates, mainly from the Netherlands (Holland)..... No Legit stations use above 1602 in the UK

I remember in the 1980's when Radio Caroline came back with the Ross Revenge, the audio bandwidth was amazing, FM like quality on 963khz
No doubt the Orban Optimod had its roll off filter modified,.....As others have said above, as long as wide bandwidth only used daytime
Ofcom proposal is for Processor to auto. switch bandwidth back to normal to stop nightime interference, which can be done with most units
