Thanks for the "Heads up" on the arrival. I spent the last two days finding the kits that I had ordered six months earlier and tracking them down. Most of those have had to be re-ordered from Hornby but I will be able to have some with me at Theale next month.
So, what's different in the new "Sink the Bismarck, Gift Set"?
1. New, bigger box made from thicker card but without the inner tray. I liked the old tray because I used it to retain small parts and tools during the build. The art work on the new boxis more dramatic and depicts the Battle of the Denmark Strait with a plausible depiction of the explosions on Hood. A summary of the action on the back of the box is succinct and accurate which should help sales in shops.
2. Paint, nylon brushes and plastic cement are included in the new set.
3. Waterslide white deck markings are included for Ark Royal.
4. A printed card timeline display base is included in the box which should encourage modellers to keep the models on show.
5. A new data sheet with coloured painting plans and a list of sisterships which also took part in the actions.
So there is added value for the extra price of the models.
Antics have stock and more sets on order.
