There is an IWM Photo - A13298 showing the ship -in grey -moored to a buoy -info is RN photo- states at Harwich Naval Base on 9/12/42

Not surprisingly - there seem to be few wartime pictures - a ship appears to have been employed around UK coast - but agree with Tim - it was probably always Grey (after all paint was scarce!!)

As an aside - no Pennant Number appears - these were often removed from wartime photos by Censor

There is another photo -on another site - supposedly during Minelaying on Forth in 1939 - but background suggests Malta!!

Not an expert on WW2 RN ships but ran this past a friend who is ex RN and researched extensively as has 1/1200 models - working for MOD in London was helpful!! - and he is in agreement with comments
