One of the best ways of identifying Les's own hand on a true Wirral is the peculiar pale green he used as a deck colour. I often wondered if he had a degree of red/green colour blindness so the colour may have looked pale brown to his eyes.

I learned to live with the deck colour to gain the beautiful mastwork and hull painting he achieved on his Wirrals.
