For DAVID Re: Limited range Re: The List Oct 14
Obviously cross reference listings are of huge value to those who wish to repaint. Why would anyone think different? You may, however, have missed my second point altogether. I was referring to the list that Wiedling had put out that contained the names of sister ships for models in our scale. This couldn't possibly be complete due to the shear number of merchant ship models in our scale. There were 2,000 listings alone in the Len Jordon list. I never saw the Wiedling book with sister ship names. My question for readers was, IF THEY HAVE THE BOOK, perhaps they could enlighten us to its value (to those who want to repaint, research, etc. )for the sister ships. I simply cannot imagine it would be as useful as the Len Jordon list. Then too, it might have been ONLY for the military ships. The list was published in two volumes with merchant ships being in one volume by itself. It would make more sense if the Wiedling list was just sister ship names for the military examples. I don't know! I only have the older set that did not include sister ship names. I never had the need for the sister ships edition so I never purchased it.
