not wide yet. One year I pruned one out to have a leader branch and was actually standing back thinking I did a good job. Just then my mockingbird landed on the leader branch and broke the darn thing. I waited until it went dormant to trim it again. I saw that darn bird try to land on it this year but so far it is holding up.
