saddens me greatly. it's a gated community and I have no say in the fronts. They want to convert to drought tolerant landscape, so they are removing the one thing that protects us from the sun's heat. yes, it's a big carrotwood, and the roots are invasive and destructive, but oh the shade. where I used to walk down a street with grass and large shade trees, now it will be baby stick trees and drought tolerant plants!!! that require much more maintenance....

Some day, long after I am gone, there will be shade again......
