not cancer. There was an area in the brain that is inconclusive because it is too small to determine (2mm) so they will check again in 2-3 months. Upper lobe was removed on Friday and Bill is doing well. My mother was admitted to the hospital the same day so I ran from the 12th floor to the 5th floor. My sister went to a craft show the next day so I did double duty on Saturday.
We got the call yesterday from pathology and the tumor in the lung is cancer/Adenocarcinoma which if you have to have it they made extensive progress with that cell type in genotyping. She also biopsied 22 lymph nodes in the area and 1 was positive for cancer. Not good so they are staging this as stage 2B. I looked it up and don't agree. His tumor was 3cm. Stage 2B is 5-7cm tumor. Either way he will have chemotherapy. I requested the tumor be sent out to be genotyped. Cell surface markers that they have targeted therapies for are ALK, BRAF, EGFR, and PD-L1 expression. Keep those prayers coming for eradication of the cancer.
