Coming from a 'flat earther', I take that as praise! ;-)
We’re not interested in the views of “Christians” here, Faz.
'Christians' like Israel Folau?
Anyone can call themselves “Christian”, just as anyone can call themselves “Catholic” regardless of how their views relate to true Catholicism. The site is called True Catholic.
OK. So all of this talk about Folau and what he said and what he believes, doesn't meet with your approval?
“Christians” do have differences of opinions about what various passages of Scripture mean, but they cannot all be right. It makes no difference how long ago it was written except to those trying to rationalize their way around what makes them uncomfortable.
It makes a huge difference.
When they wrote scripture, most people were like you: they believed the earth was flat, the sun went around the earth and it was created in seven days.
Catholics, 'true' or otherwise are not required to believe that. It's changed.
In the wiki article you reference, scripture says, 'If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them'.
Is that 'right' or 'wrong', John? Are we obliged to enforce capital punishment on those who engage in same-sex relations?
I assume, with some trepidation, that you don't believe we should 'put to death' those who engage in same sex relations?
The notion of 'idolatry' in Folau's list of sins is different for his Christian denomination than it is for Catholics.
If your contention is right, that 'We’re not interested in the views of “Christians', why have you engaged in the discussion centred on his particular take on 'Christianity'?
