In any national debate there will always be a measure of mud slinging by the parties presenting their agendas to the public through the media. Clearly the anti abortion lobby believe that the pro abortion lobby is winning the argument, therefore are resorting to sore loser tactics by blaming the prejudice of the media to justify their apparent failure to persuade the voter. This is all speculation for the referendum has not yet taken place.

There is no defence for the failure of the Irish hierarchy, Irish police, Irish judiciary, and Irish government to clean up the sexual abuse epidemic that Ireland has been experiencing over the past fifty years.
