Halloween Party wrap up >>>

Posted by The Head Office on October 26, 2026, 8:06 am

Many thanks to Jeff and Sandra in OH for our prizes!! And special thanks to Ivy in MA for sponsoring our party and helping with the shipping costs!!

I love Halloween... just as much as Christmas. I always look forward to decorating our house and handing out candy to the kids. Next week it will be here, and then it is November already. This year seems to have just flown by in the blink of an eye and autumn always makes me melancholy.

As we begin our decent into the holiday season, it is a busy time of year, so take some time to enjoy the things you love.

Someone messaged me asking why I would give up such a nice item from my collection as a prize? I said, "it has sat in a box, in storage for over 10 years. I already own the dressed doll. I would love someone to own it and enjoy it."

I have a hard time selling anything from my Gene collection. I open boxes with the intention of thinning my collection and and end up with nothing to sell. I may not play with them very much but I love them too much to part with. The Tonner's and 12" dolls on the other hand, I have no problem parting with.

Which leads me to collecting in general. For the past year, I have fallen into the rabbit hole of Pop Mart figures. The collection I have acquired is embarrassingly huge. LOL But I love them and they make me happy. If you want to see some... I posted my Instagram below.

My point here is, do what you love. Make yourself happy. Enjoy what you have and buy what you want. I have two shelves of Gene's on display in my office. Every time I look at them I smile. I think they are so beautiful. And for a few minutes I am in a happy place.

Thanks for coming to TSC! Keep sharing the dream!

My doll collection hasn't evolved that much though I did start in on Twiggy. Oh dear. My interests now are painting with fabric and building tiny houses and vintage dollhouse kitchens. But the girls are always there on my desk and shelves for me to gaze at and think what I should change them into next. BTW the tiny stuff like buttons and hooks are getting very difficult for me but I persevere. Good thing the girls don't whine. Thank you all for the Halloween fun!

What a great post, Mike. I, too, am a long time Gene collector from Day 1. Many dolls have ...>>>

come and gone through my home but not many Genes have left. She cast a spell on me from the beginning and she still does. In fact, I just sent payment for one of my many grails that I had missed out on. I'm supposed to be downsizing but it's not easy and my Genes will probably turn brittle and gray right along with me. Thank you for ALWAYS making this group fun and welcoming!!! xoxo

Thank you, Mike. What a lovely reminder about enjoying our collections and treasuring what makes >>

I love Halloween too and of course candy! I wish I had kids coming to our door, but alas, we live on a street with no sidewalks and in 20 plus years we've only had 10 (in total) trick or treaters. More candy for me definitely, but love seeing the families and kids in costumes.
