George made it through a long surgery that was more complicated than expected. He’s awake and alert today in ICU but in a lot of pain. His prognosis is good. We’ll know more in the next couple of days.

I spent part of the long wait yesterday opening & enjoying a stack of beautiful cards. It was a great way to occupy some time! Thank you all for the diversions.

I’m still mostly lurking but will jump in when I can. George had asked me if I wanted something special for Christmas. I responded that all I wanted was for him to get through this and get back home. Here’s hoping my Christmas wish continues to come true and that each of you receives yours as well.

Thinking of you both and sending all my love. Baby steps! And here is to your wish being yours!

a long recovery ahead. This was a more complex surgery than anticipated, so we’re not out of the woods yet. We’re grateful for the small improvements each day brings and warmed by the many who are pulling for us.

Wonderful to hear that George is doing well. The best Christmas gift ever!
