Longshot question about On The Avenue prototype >>

A seller on the FB Gene Marshall Sales has the On The Avenue prototype for sale, and we were both wanting to confirm that the protoype's fabric was silk chiffon.

Can anyone help? And any additional information about the prototype would also be appreciated.

official AD promotional photos of this fashion, they clearly were silk. You might ask how the seller came into possession of this item to determine if it was an actual prototype.

I looked at the sale and saw it was called a one of a kind prototype ...

Of course I don't know what the practices were in those years before I joined the Gene Team, but when I worked for them I was asked to provide anywhere from four to seven copies of my design. They would go to different arms of the production process, and I suppose they could all be called original. It could be in the earlier days there really was just one sample. I guess I would focus on the fact that this was most likely a hand made original rather than that it could be a one of a kind.

You might ask where it came from, as most had a drawing or tag with them. At the very least the box was labeled. After the team disbanded it was literally everyone for themselves, and everything was up for grabs. I know a couple employees that sold stuff years ago. Mel might remember what Tim sewed with and what was authorized to move forward.
