Of course I don't know what the practices were in those years before I joined the Gene Team, but when I worked for them I was asked to provide anywhere from four to seven copies of my design. They would go to different arms of the production process, and I suppose they could all be called original. It could be in the earlier days there really was just one sample. I guess I would focus on the fact that this was most likely a hand made original rather than that it could be a one of a kind.
