your 'stuff' before you and the item or is it just me? (Being typically over-sentimental as it were) I've bought so much from fellow collectors through here and elsewhere, and I always think of that person when I see or play with that doll, outfit, jewelry, hat, purse, etc. My brain does not seem capable of separating them and I like that I contribute a tiny small effort in keeping that person's memory alive when they are gone.
For instance, Ben Grundfast. I bought several things from his estate, even now things show up on eBay and list that they were from his estate. He was always gracious and friendly at conventions but even if I had never met him I would still think of him every time I played with something that came from him.
It really may just be me, maybe I just get too attached to inanimate objects, but everything I touch has a history to me. If I let something go I make sure the person I pass it to knows who had it before me.
Thanks for reading this, my inquiring mind just wanted to know.
