I imagine you'd like to do this right now, so this might not be of immediate use, but I've always had success laying dolls, heads, bodies on the back seat of the car in the driveway on a hot, sunny day. Everything seems to get evenly warm and soft all the way through, and the parts retain the heat while you get your grip positioned.
