I have been in contact with Jörg Fockele who is currently in the midst of production on a documentary about Mel Odom; his life, his art and of course Gene.

From the website: EYES OF MEL ODOM is a short documentary about award-winning artist Mel Odom, whose pioneering career stands as testament to the ways trailblazing creativity can transform loss and despair into hope and joy.

Jörg has been working on this with Mel & Charlie and he is very enthusiastic about the project. A Kickstarter has been started to help fund the film and, with less than two weeks to go, they still need contributors. Please consider helping if you can.
