Seems an unusual choice, Discord is more like a chat room with video/audio, the initial users were gamers as a talkback audio channel while playing. It's an interactive rather than broadcast platform.

Downsides for radio are that it's DMCA regulated, so it's fine for speech only, not for commercial music.

So perhaps a chat with their supporters is what they have in mind, in which case it's fine.
