I do not know if Derek Jay and Derek May are one and the same, as in a typo, but you have usefully stated that which I did not like to state, that Freddie likes to feel he has access to information that he can then pass on to those less privileged.
I understand that in his other persona he courted our Barry James and sat in on some of his programmes. More recently he sat with ( or in earshot of ) our Alan Beech and Rob Ashard and thus started posting here about audio quality and the problems with remote presenters etc.
But returning to the message that started this mostly pointless thread, but which has created 30+ comments thus far, we have to assume that Paul G is not Paul Graham ( radio consultant ) who was connected with someone also local who floated a similar idea years ago of placing the Communicator off the Essex coast and now wants to post another non story, having seen a Lightship for sale on the marine trading site Apollo Duck.
To try again with a comparison that was edited out of a previous posting, this is about as likely to happen as my 'having sex with Taylor Swift'. To bring home the utter improbability I will add ' with Sydney Sweeney waiting her turn '.
Anyway, back to the day job. The Lottery want to know, as one part of deciding if we are worthy of being funded, what we are going to do to save the environment. I had best get on with considering that.
