The main losers will be those electricity customers who utilise the RTS teleswitching service. I see the BBC have simply lobbed this one over the fence saying it's nothing to do with them. That may be true but I know of several domestic installations that rely on these things to switch over in the early hours to switch immersion heater loads etc and provide a flag for the dual rate meter to switch to cheap rate. Not sure what happens if the signal goes. Do they limp on with an internal clock or end up stuck in day rate?
If they stick in night rate, I withdraw my complaint.
