In recent years Mr Mulryan has been running a small distillery on the Waterford-Cork border after some years working for RTE, but has reappeared to produce this podcast

The claims of a possible association (relating to abuse) with Jimmy Saville though, on the face of it look significant, are I'd say just clutching at straws to have such a story. Saville was in Dublin for charity walk events, and I presume a DJ on the station persuaded him to do an interview on Radio Dublin, as it would look great for the status of the station, both from giving publicity to the large charity event, as well as interviewing what was a well known entertainment figure (across Ireland as well as the UK) at the time.
His TV show was broadcast on RTE as well as BBC and well known across Ireland, and it did features in Ireland, such as this:
