I'm not sure how many people respected Cooke back then. Many suspected him going back to the 1970's of having a dubious interest in young girls. Regarding the disappearance of Philip Cairns, I'm not so sure he had any involvement. There was a woman who, years later, claimed she had witnessed Cooke and Philip having an altercation in Radio Dublin just before he disappeared. I don't know whether she told the Guards this at the time.
