Ships for such use could be repaired in or supplied from the UK until 1967. The only reason that RCA did the installation of Radio Scotland and Radio 270 was not on e of legislation; they were fiutte out in Guernsey which had the same law as the UK. It was one of taxation - MONEY!
Similarly the repairs to the Mi Amigo in early 1966 were done in Zandam due to two things - one the Dutch are much more commercially minded than the Uk, and the yard there had good recent experience from fitting out the Norderney for radio Veronica in 1964.
Even so, the new 50kW transmitter was installed on the Mi Amigo outside Dutch waters, which is what the gantry above the for'ard hatch was erected for.
