Hi Walter ill try and answer your questions I've not court up yet as been getting settled in at home after an extended stint on sealand. Firstly the MAN diesels were indeed turbo charged V8 engines we had two in the generator room a converted hold forward of the main engine room also the henschel and the 10 kw fariman V2cylinder diesel unit .then later we had the Cummings unit on the rear deck (above my cabin) the engine was a straight six cylinder super changed engine with pt fuel injection and was incredibly thirsty inrespect to the highly efficient MAN generators consumed 1000 liters of fuel oil per day ie 24hrs on load ..fuel and money were in very short supply at this time ..I hope this helps ill update when I'm more awake feel free to ask LA mb
