I did meet Simon a couple of times, but don’t think he was ever considered for the on-air team. Perhaps Roger had discussions with him, or Rodney Collins did? The only ones I discussed programming with were Mitch Murray, Gene Pitney and Rick Wakeman - the last two were directors too. Each were only seated to do weekly 2 hour shows at the weekend, not regular daily strips.
