It was directed in the wrong way, but Peter Chicago studied the installation, very big !, and told us he could change direction to the UK.
To run 1008 was very expensive, not only hire of TX and energy, but even spectrum fees were outragious. The bill for that had already risen to almost 300,000 Euro, even when not using it.
So we were glad to sell it out to Radio 10 to pay the bills.
I had 1395 (and 5 others) and put it available for BigL. The official international established power for this was a staggering 550 kW. But it was temporary set back to 25.
The idea was to move it closer to the UK, but when it became known in the area (Zeeland) people started to turn against a powerful transmitter. So this never worked out.
The best I could do was increae power to 55 kW, illegally. The TX was a 150 kW Harris in Trintelhaven. A small ilnd halfway the dike Enkhuizen - Lelystad. The small restaurant on that island was powered by the TX generator.
It had to be silenced between 19 and 22 UK time to facilitate Trans World Radio from Albania. We had an agreement on that to avoid blocking almost all day.
BTW, never a penny was paid for 1395 to Nozema, the owner of the TX.
