Angel Radio extends DAB+ coverage
Angel Radio has used the funding saved by coming off the the Channel Islands on DAB to instead broadcast to newly opened digital multiplexes covering Newcastle, Gateshead, Sheffield and Rotherham.
Station Manger, Tony Smith, explained "While it may appear strange to come off the Channel Islands DAB as a money saving exercise only to then go on DAB in Newcastle, Gateshead, Sheffield and Rotherham. The simple fact is that the cost of covering those four cities is about half the cost of covering the Channel Islands. Angel Radio is a registered charity and we need to be sure that we are using our finances to the greatest advantage"
Angel Radio extends DAB+ coverage
Angel Radio has expanded its DAB+ coverage to Southern Ireland on digital transmitters in Cork, Dublin, Dundalk, and Waterford.
Angel Radio will soon also be on-air in Northern Ireland on DAB transmitters which are due on-air later this year and located in Belfast and Lisburn.
Station Manger, Tony Smith, explained "This is yet another super leap forward at being able to supply our unique memories and music programmes to the nostalgia starved older people in Ireland."
